Considering the student pilot is an amazing woman who leads firefighters, we are overjoyed to honor the accomplishment of earning a tailwheel endorsement to solo. She is a student pilot working diligently to become a Private Pilot in our Citabrias. Jenna, there’s seems to be nothing you can’t master. We are proud to be part of your pilot journey. A bit late, but a big we send a big “well done” out to Yujie and his CFI Benny for making the trek to Sacramento’s McClellan airport and passing a checkride with DPE Richard Conte.
Mr. Conte passed away in October and is extremely missed. Yujie was very fortunate to have a checkride with Richard before he left us.

Our office manager Sara is now able to be hired as a pilot! Sara earned her Commercial Pilot certificate with DPE Eric Cook at Salinas Airport. A graduate from San Jose State’s aviation program, Sara’s next move is to prepare for the flight instructor checkride and eventually teach our students. She’s on the fast track, and we couldn’t be more happy for this latest accomplishment of hers. We are all rooting for you, Sara! Be sure to congratulate Sara when you see her.

A big “way to go!” shout out to our newly minted tailwheel pilot. John Keegan is the first recipient of our Jason Brown Memorial Scholarship. He put the funds to good use flying with most of our tailwheel instructors. He immediately went for a solo flight after our Chief Instructor Jen signed his tailwheel endorsement. He’s well on his way to the goal of becoming a backcountry pilot.
