“As a teenager I wanted to pursue a career in Aviation but things weren’t conducive for that back then in India. After moving to Bay Area 3 years ago, I decided to chase my childhood dream of flying and started training at Aerodynamic Aviation. Tailwheels were the obvious choice for me since very few schools actually offer training in them and I did not want to miss that opportunity. Balancing training and a full time job wasn’t easy but I was in good hands of CFI Jason Brown. “Having a family of military/commercial pilots influenced me to become one. I’m now the third generation in my family to fly, but the first female in my family. But honestly, my grandmother influenced me to fly even though she wasn’t a pilot. When she was younger she wanted to fly, but back then you had to get your father’s permission (which she did not have permission from hers) so she decided she would marry a pilot (and she did, my grandpa!). So I wanted to do this for her. My plan now is to hopefully go into the Air Force and fly my dream plane C-130.” ~ Nicole

Thanks to the great instruction provided by Travis and Kat, student pilot Yuchen put in the hard work and earned his Private Pilot License! Despite gusty, turbulent conditions at Reid-Hillview, Yuchen departed with CFI James for Sacramento to pass his checkride on the first attempt with DPE Oren. Way to pull together, team! We are proud to have made Yuchen’s dreams come true.

“How I got into flying: I’ve been around general aviation my entire life. My father, who has been an active private pilot for 38 years, completed the build of his Glasair I shortly before I was born. By the time I was two weeks old, my parents flew me in the Glasair to my first airshow in Tennessee. My family and I have had countless GA adventures since then and we have attended Oshkosh Airventure together sixteen times! Since I finished college and have time for training, my goal has been to obtain my private pilot certification.
What I will do now: Now that I completed my private pilot certification, I will exercise my privileges on leisurely trips and flying adventures with friends and family. I plan on continuing my training to obtain instrument, complex, and tail wheel ratings.”

Unfortunately, I failed to join the reserve pilot program offered by the biggest airline in my country when I was a high school student. Couple years later, I decided to find my way becoming a pilot.
