CFI Godfrey Watson joins AeroDynamic
Dec 24 2011A warm welcome to Godfrey Watson who is joining us as an instructor. Godfrey has been flying taildraggers for many years and was one of the very few people Amelia Reid would let fly even if they missed their 30 day tailwheel currency.
Godfrey has airplane single and multi engine land and sea on his Commercial Pilot license and he is a Certified Flight Instructor, Instrument Instructor, Advanced Ground Instructor and Instrument Ground Instructor.
We are delighted that Godfrey has joined us!
New Certified Flight Instructor: Thomas Daniel
Aug 11 2011Congratulations to Thomas Daniel who earned his Certified Flight Instructor certificate today with Examiner Tom Hornak. Thomas completed his training with AeroDynamic CFI Dick Chang in our Cessna 172RG, N 616SF.
Well done Thomas!
Certified Gyroplane Instructor
Mar 21 2011Not satisfied with just getting his Commercial Gyroplane license, AeroDynamic CFI Sergey Sinyachkin also earned his Gyroplane CFI! Here he is with both his new certificates.
Congratulations Sergey!
New Commercial Gyroplane Pilot: Sergey Sinyachkin
Mar 14 2011Continuing on his quest to earn every possible category and class rating, our intrepid CFI Sergey Sinyachkin has earned his Gyroplane Commercial rating. Sergey already has Commercial and Instructor ratings in airplanes, gliders, baloons and helicopters.
What on earth is a Gyroplane you might ask? It is a rotorcraft, like a helicopter, exept the rotor is not powered by a motor, but turns due to airflow in flight. So it cannot hover like a helicopter, but can fly pretty slowly, and can settle straight down onto a tiny landing spot.
Congratulations Sergey!

Events: $100 off Abrams Aviation Private and Sport Pilot Weekend Ground School
Feb 11 2011I am delighted to announce that we have negotiated a $100 discount for the upcoming intensive weekend Private and Sport Pilot Ground School, on February 26th and 27th.
This school, run by renowned aviation educator Fred Abrams, will prepare you, in just one weekend, to pass your Private or Sport pilot Knowledge Test. Normally $395, mention this blog article or Facebook post and get it for only $295. That includes the FAA Knowledge Test Prep book as well!
Better yet, Fred offers a unique money-back guarantee. If after four hours you do not believe you are getting your money’s worth you can get your fee back, no questions asked.
This school is also ideal for pilots close to their checkride or getting ready for their knowledge test, as a refresher and reminder of the areas needed to pass the tests.
This course will be taught by Fred Abrams himself. Give yourself the best chance to ace your knowledge test, come and learn with the master himself! For more about Fred and Abrams Aviation check out their web site: http://abramsaviation.com/recpvtdescription.aspx
The only things you may need to buy if you don’t have them already, are a chart plotter and a E6B calculator (manual or electronic).

The more observant may have noticed that Citabria 9091L is not out on the ramp or on Schedulemaster any more. This is because she is in the hangar for a complete recover. I’ll post the occasional picture on our Facebook page.
The first fledgling of December leaves the nest! Well done to Laura Wenus, who soloed a Citabria with CFI Erik Schmidt watching from the ground. Well done both.
Our AeroDynamic CFI Sergey Sinyachkin added a Helicopter Instrument Instructor to his long list of qualifications. Congratulations to Sergey!
N88353 is back! The aerobatic Citabria 7KCAB is back after a complete recover, new seats, and new 5 point acro seat belts.

The first solo of July was flown by Rich Miller at Salinas. Rich actually soloed some twenty years before, but had to give up, so this is a renewal for him. Well done Rich.
The first checkride in July was a resounding success for Garrett Grant. He aced his Private Pilot flight test. Well done Garrett.
We rearranged our airplanes so now N968RC and N98485 are in Salinas – two 172P models in the same place. N61637 is back at Reid Hillview where she joins her matching sister N61672.
