New Instrument Rating – Zibin He
Sep 25 2019Date: September 19, 2019
Certification: Instrument Rating
Instructor: David Waksberg
Aircraft: Cessna N828LP
“Passing the instrument checkride is really a hard work pay off for me. After my private checkride, I jumped right into instrument almost without any break. Unlike all the beautiful things during private training, I only see one picture (the panel) all the time throughout the instrument training. It’s kind of a tolerate, but also discipline. It’s the pay off that I finally get my ticket to fly into clouds. I don’t plan to have any break and will do my commercial license training starting next week. Big thanks to David and everyone had ever helped me on my flight training.” ~Zibin

New Instrument Rating – Joseph Oberholtzer
Sep 23 2019Date: September 3, 2019
Certification: Instrument Rating
Instructor: Dick Chang
Aircraft: Cessna N54102
Joseph Oberholtzer grew up hanging out at his best friend’s house at the end of a grass strip (KO03) and hearing stories of bush flying into the remote native communities in Canada. He now works as an engineer in aviation and is starting to collect his own flying stories that only other pilots and small children will to listen to. His current goal is to convince someone to let him fly their Pawnee (or really anything) to drag other airplanes through the sky.
We are happy to be part of his story. Congrats on achieving this hard-won aviation milestone!

New Private Pilot – Thomas Seymour-Cozzini
Sep 19 2019Date: September 1, 2019
Certification: Private Pilot
Instructor: Grainne Gilvarry
Aircraft: Citabria N9081L
“I’ve wanted to fly since I was a kid, and have always been fascinated with airplanes. During high school, I decided to start on my pilot’s license during my first Summer in college. I did, and now that I have one more semester left before I graduate from San Jose State University, I finished my private pilot’s license. I’ll try to keep flying during graduate school, but between the workload and the lack of money, that may prove difficult. At some point, I hope to gain a rating for MES; I’ve always liked flying boats.” ~Thomas

New Private Pilot – Jess White
Aug 16 2019Date: August 5, 2019
Certification: Private Pilot
Instructor: Grant Ozdinski
Aircraft: Cessna N12234
“I became a pilot because I love flying, the freedom it gives you, and the wonderful people you meet along the way.
I strangely love how difficult it was for me to get my license. It pushed me to have serious discipline when things got tough, and push forward even when it felt like I would never cross the finish line. I’m grateful for the process and the determination it took, against all the hiccups and delays. I am a much better person because of it.
My goals with flying are simple. Have as much fun as possible. However, I do plan on purchasing an airplane in the coming months so I can search for the perfect $100 hamburger and fly my family all over the West Coast.” ~Jess
Special thanks to CFI Grant, who worked tirelessly and often late to help Jess with the final prep.

New Private Pilot – Kaustubha Suresh Raut
Jul 29 2019Date: July 22, 2019
Certification: Private Pilot
Instructor: Jason Brown
Aircraft: Citabria N11681
“As a teenager I wanted to pursue a career in Aviation but things weren’t conducive for that back then in India. After moving to Bay Area 3 years ago, I decided to chase my childhood dream of flying and started training at Aerodynamic Aviation. Tailwheels were the obvious choice for me since very few schools actually offer training in them and I did not want to miss that opportunity. Balancing training and a full time job wasn’t easy but I was in good hands of CFI Jason Brown. I look forward to exploring California and many more places by air with friends and family.” ~Kaustubha Suresh Raut
Congrats on a first-time pass!!! You and Jason knocked it out of the park, complete with an awesome photo after the checkride 😉
